Curborough Sprint Track
Why We Love Curborough – A Hidden Gem for Motorsport Photography
We spend a lot of time at Curborough Sprint Course, and honestly, it’s one of our favourite spots — not just for watching motorsport, but for photographing it too. Whether you're just starting out in motorsport photography or simply want to sharpen your skills, Curborough is a brilliant place to be.
One of the best things? It’s free for spectators. That’s right — no ticket needed, just turn up and enjoy the action. The track layout and relaxed atmosphere mean you can get surprisingly close to the action, making it perfect for capturing those dramatic cornering shots, tyre smoke, and full-speed sprints.
Even better, you're welcome in the paddock. We've had countless friendly chats with drivers, and the kids have even been invited to sit in the race cars — a real thrill! It’s this welcoming, grassroots vibe that makes Curborough so special. You’re not just watching racing, you’re experiencing it up close.
And make no mistake — while it may be grassroots, this is proper racing. You’ll see everything from well-prepared road cars to seriously fast single-
seaters, all competing against the clock in a tight, technical course.
Of course, no visit is complete without a stop at the Sprinters Rest café. The kids always look forward to a hot chocolate, and it’s a great little spot to warm up, chat, and go over your photos from the morning session.
For us, Curborough is more than just a race track — it’s a place to learn, to connect, and to share a love of motorsport as a family. If you're looking for an accessible and friendly way to dive into motorsport photography, this is the place to start.
