Kent Heritage Transport Show
As a family who loves photography and all things vintage, the Heritage Transport Show was the perfect way to spend a Saturday. We’d heard great things about it, but seeing it in person was something else entirely — a paradise for camera lovers and history buffs alike.
From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by an incredible variety of vehicles — classic cars gleaming in the sunlight, steam engines gently hissing, vintage motorcycles lined up with pride. It felt like stepping into another era, and every corner of the showground presented a new photo opportunity.
One of the highlights for us was the South East Bus Festival. The sight of beautifully restored buses and coaches rolling through the grounds brought back so many memories — and for the kids, hopping on one for a free ride was a real adventure. There's something special about seeing your children experience a bit of the past through your lens.
With over 1,000 vehicles on display, we were spoiled for choice when it came to subjects. The textures, colors, and character of each vehicle told a story, and we found ourselves chatting with owners who were more than happy to share their restoration journeys — a real bonus for storytelling through our photography.
The autojumble sale was another highlight. While we didn’t buy anything this time, we loved browsing through the old signage, tools, and collectibles — and of course, snapping a few more photos along the way.
What made the day even better was how family-friendly it was. There was space to roam, friendly faces everywhere, and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy each display. We left with full memory cards, tired feet, and big smiles.
Whether you're into photography, classic vehicles, or just looking for a unique day out as a family, the Heritage Transport Show is a must. We’ll definitely be back — and next time, we might even dress the part!
